From March 26 to 29, 2024, the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2024 was held in Boao, Hainan, with the theme of “Asia and the World: Common Challenges, Shared Responsibilities”. This annual meeting has established four major sections of “World Economy”, “Scientific and Technological Innovation”, “Social Development” and “International Cooperation”, with dozens of topics covering more than 40 sub-forums activities. To address global common challenges, this conference aims to forge a Boao Consensus, contribute to Boao Wisdom, and propose Boao Solutions.
H.E. Mr. ZHAO Leji, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPCSC), delivered a keynote speech at the Opening Ceremony of the BFA Annual Conference 2024. H.E. Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan; H.E. Mr. Daren TANG, Director-General of the World Intellectual Property Organization; H.E. Mr. Mathias Cormann, Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development; H.E. Mr. KAO Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, and H.E. The working team of China Innovation Finance Institute attended several sub-forums, including “Investing the Future of Asia”, “Accelerating Transition towards Zero-Carbon Power”, “Deepening Financial Cooperation in Asia”, “Financing a Greener ‘Belt and Road’ “, ” Financial Roundtable: Financial Market Development in Asia and Financial Globalization”, and “ Carbon Pricing, Carbon Market and Biodiversity Credits”, sharing their work and research with experts from home and abroad.
